Academy:
Academy of Maritime Studies, a unit of AMS College
of Advanced Studies Private Limited having is
registered office in Northern Capital Territory of
Delhi & one of the biggest campuses of 7.76 acres in
Indian maritime education at Sampla, Haryana (Delhi
& National Capital Region) with Proposed Navigation
& Steering Simulators, Swimming Pool, Auditorium and
Jogging Track of around 2 kms. The Academy has 100%
placement record onboard foreign going ships. The
Academy is being headed by Mr. K. D. Ahuja as full
time Managing Director, Chief Engineer in
Merchant
Navy having 37 years of total experience in the
industry. Having sailed with Shipping Corporation of
India for 20 years out of which 13 years as Chief
Engineer. After his stint at sea he worked with a
Maritime Institute from 1992 till 2006 as
Director/Head of Institute.
Marine Operations (Deck):
The Academy of
Maritime Studies is a leading study
centre in Marine Operations (Deck) in collaboration
with Western Australia Maritime Training Centre (WAMTC),
Challenger TAFE, Fremantle,
Perth,
Government of Western Australia. Curricula are
industry approved and meet the requirements of
Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA),
Government of Australia. As a result the centre
maintains a reputation for excellent student
performance and is highly valued by the
international maritime community. Successful
completion of the study program leads to the ability
to Command international vessels.
Deck Cadet Program:
Deck Cadet Program has been designed specifically as
an industry introductory program for new entrants
training to be deck officers. The program seeks to
provide an on and off-the job study, resulting in
Diploma and Advanced diploma in Transport &
Distribution as Second Mates, Mates and leading to
Masters. Each phase builds on the previous phase and
provides relevant, academic and practical
instruction to match graduate levels of experience.
Future Expansion:
A major focus for future expansion of the Academy is
Marine Engineering. AMS will be shortly
collaborating with WAMTC,
Fremantle,
Australia for starting a program for Graduate
Mechanical Engineers who want
to make their career
as Engineering officers in Merchant Navy. AMS would
be the first Academy outside Australia to launch GME
Study Program of its kind approved by Australian
Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA), Government or
Australia.
Students study through the latest PC–based
Technology. Successful completion
of the study
program leads to the ability to command/control
machinery operations on international seafaring
vessels. Graduate of this study program will have
their certificates recognized nationally and
internationally under STCW '95 for seagoing
employment.
Staff Expertise: The
Academy of Maritime Studies has some of the finest
training staff within the
maritime industry; all of
them have extensive seagoing experience as Master
Mariners/Chief Engineers. Their in-depth industry
knowledge provides for very rich learning
environment, where staff is able to meld theory with
