1.      Educational Qualification: 10+2 with a minimum 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & 50% in English at X^th or 10+2 level.

2.      Age: Preferably not exceeding 22 years (24 years in case of B.Sc. Graduates) on the date of commencement of the Pre-sea Study program.

3.      Visual standards: 6/6 without external aids and with no color blindness.

4.      Medical standards: Good Health with no physical impairment.

How to apply : Advertisements for “Admissions Open” appears in the leading newspapers thrice a year. The candidates who meet the above criteria  & are desirous to join Deck Cadet Study Program can apply  to ACADEMY OF MARITIME STUDIES  on the prescribed form along with attested copy of X^th, 10+2 class mark sheets, recent colour passport size photographs (4 copies). The application form is given in the prospectus, which is available on payment of Rs. 350/- by Cash or D/D favouring "AMS College of Advanced Studies Pvt. Ltd." Payable at New Delhi. Application forms can also be downloaded from the website.

Selection: After scrutinizing the applications, AMS will issue call letters to the candidates who will be required to attend the Counseling and appear for I.Q., Psychometric Test, Interview and Medical/Eyesight test on the date & venue mentioned in the call  letter. Selection will be confirmed only after qualifying all selection rounds and if found medically  fit for sea service.

All candidates are required to bring their original certificates at the time of test and interview/admission.
